| MINI2 Regular | heated seats or not? need advice Since I cannot remember the last time I had a car without cloth seats, I need some advice on the cold weather package. I live in the moderate temperature of the Pacific NW and plan to get the leatherette seats. So,my question: are the heated seats a necessity, a something nice to have or just not needed? Thanks! ![]() 02 RED/WHITE MCS and motoring since Sept 7, 2002 |

Offline | I love them They heat up really fast and have two settings, but most importantly the switches make the mirror switch plate look more complete I've got the full leather and they're good at taking the chill out of them on cold mornings and they act as a good massage after a hard day at work. It's one option I'm definately going fo on my S. MINI, RX8 and MX5 - Done those............. It's now TTime ![]() ![]() Unofficial MINI2.com bean counter |

Offline | In order to get my car earlier, I accepted a car with the cold weather package and I live in sunnny southern California. I'm sure I will never need the heated seats, but the defrosting side mirrors will come in handy. As it is only $300 dollars I think it will you might as well order it. DS\W 'S' cold weather pkg, Auto A\C, MFSW, 17" white wheels, fog lamps and DSC. Picked up 7/6/02. Added Works package 9/30/03 |

| MINI2 Master | The leatherette can be a bit chilly first thing in the mornin' so it is a nice option in a way. As well, the seats heat up immediately while the main fan heat must wait for engine temperature to come up. My wife loves them, says she gets a massage while she is in the car. All that said, you could do without them but they are very nice. I wouldn't have ordered them if they hadn't been part of the launch edition package but now that I have them, I'm glad I do. Offline | I would go and try heated seats in another car first if I were you. I personally don't like them, they kind of freak me out. It's a bit like when you go to the toilet and the seat'a already warm, except that they don't reach any kind of temperature equilibrium with your bum; even when you've been sitting in them for a while they are always a bit warmer than you! But maybe that's just me! Try it, you might like it. If it's that cold outside that I might need a heated seat, I normally put my pants on before getting in the car though, so I don't really feel the need for them! ![]() |
