Anti-theft strategies?

Given that car alarms going off exites about as much attention in your average neighborhood as a simple car honking, is the Mini alarm worth the price?

Instead, I'm thinking of going with something like Lo-jack to protect my yet to be received MCSc.

Obviously, more is better, so perhaps both? Add a cut off switch? When does enough become enough?

I'm interested in other mini owners' experiences with these anti-theft strategies and any others that are effective.

When that alarm (factory fitted) goes off, it's quite unbearable in and around a MINI!

The loudness of the alarm depends on the local regulations. The maximum in England is very quiet.

I think that the best thing is one that phones you when it goes off. It won't annoy the neighbours and it doesn't matter if you are far away, you will still know if it goes off.

Anti-theft stat.

I guess that would be the Desert Eagle sticker that is on the back window.

Then there is the fact that where I park at work, there is a bunch of cops around.

And last but not least, at night, she's tucked in away in the garage.

Motor on
