Question Is this used Mini a good deal?

I've found a used Mini in my city, and the seller is asking for US$20,995. Here are the specs:

- 2004 Mini "Regular" in excellent condition - 13k miles
- Manual transmission
- Premium *and* Sport packages
- Dual exhaust system
- Still has factory warranty and service plan

Is this worth the money in your opinion? I'd build my own but a number of factors dictate that I need to get a car soon, (in the next few weeks) and I don't want to get a plain ol' boring corolla or the like.

Thanks.

Hello there,

If i was looking for a MINI and found the one you found, here is what I have to say:

If it is Cooper S, this is a great opportunity for a great price,, "BUT",, you must check exactlly why is the seller selling it, and to be more confident, ask to take it to the dealership for an A-Z check up or ask them for its maintainance history.

If it was a Regular Cooper, you might wanna pass by MINI Dealership and check what they have to offer you and through in a word or two stating "Ya I found a cooper at price of 21 000, how much could you do for the price to make me want yours instead !!" If you argue with them about a Pre-Owned MINI,, try to metion "CASH".... I will give you a deposit cash today or tomorrow if you accept my offer !!

Try it as well with the seller, he might turn it down,, give him a day or two and chances are he will call back giving you a better price.

If it was a Classic Cooper ! Forget it, its a rip-off.

Hope these advices are helpfull to you.

Let us know about your decision

You know I'm currently in the process of trying to track down which "trim" it is. Although I should have mentioned that I'm in the SF bay area where it seems that demand for Minis FAR outstrips supply, so teasing dealerships is simply not going to work.

Call Mini of the Hamptons and see what you could buy somethgn new off of their showfloor for. It can not be an S at that price - and is probably about right for a Cooper in SF (as it would be similar in Seattle) if it does have all the options. You could go out of state and save a bunch.

It is indeed a normal Cooper and not the "S" trim. I'll take it on a test drive, but you know I just built my own custom 2005 on miniisa.com right now with all the options i want, and it came in $200 cheaper than what he's asking! ($20,788 vs. $20,995)

Looks like I'll be calling around some nationwide dealerships tomorrow. Thanks for all of the advice here.
