I once had the shaft of a spanner (minus it's spanner ends) go through the tyre of my first Nova!
I can only imagine the front wheel flipped it up and the rear wheel went over it as it was in an upright position. Felt a bump, the back end bounced a bit a few times, getting softer each time, I guess as the object went further into the tyre.
Anyway, got to work thinking nothing of it, came back down at break time to check the car was still OK and found the tyre flat as a pancake. Only found out it was a big 6" long chunk of spanner when the tyre was taken off.
Fortunately, not had any flats since (that's tempting fate! )
It is silver? At least if its silver maybe its valuable, and he can sell it to pay for a new tire.
I always wonder how nails and other very unnatural things get on the road. I suppose a fork isn't such a huge stretch otherwise for someone to drop and not pick up.
Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball.
A lot of punctures come from stuff thrown up by the front and driven over by the rear. Years ago, a friend picked up a 4" chunk of a bearing that must have originally been about 12" diameter. The bearing fragment ended up totally inside the tyre.
