OK just took a look under my MINI ONE and i had the BMW Stainless Steel Exhaust Fitted. £400 + Fitting!

The big long pipe from the 1st box all the way to the back box has rusted this is not what i paid £400 + Fitting for the only thing that shows no signs of rust is the actual Rear silencer box. surely i the whose rear silencer and tube must be stainless steels as its a complete unit?

I'm thinking of going in on Monday with guns blazing ! need MINI 2 Help first what you think?

You bought the official MINI sports exhaust for ONE/Cooper?

If that's the one, I'm not sure it calls itself stainless in any official literature...

blazing is not what I would recommend to get satisfaction. More likely you'll get satisfaction if you get all your facts straight first and then with an intelligent demeanor and loaded with the facts sit them down and let them know what is wrong and what is right. If you do otherwise you'll not only alienate them, but lower yourself to the normal intelligence level of the unwashed masses.

im with you stevePSB, i am sure it is only called MINI Sports Exhaust....no mention of stainless steel.

tis all warranty but the new john cooper sound pack silencer is out and should cost the same so see if the dealer will fit that insted of just repacing the old one cos its all similar cost etc and means you still keep your warranty

Not all stainless steel is of the same quality. It sounds as if they have used a poor batch of stainless steel . You need to buy an exhaust that advertises itself as aircraft quality stainless this is the very best and the only to go for.

Just go and quietly demand your money back it's more effective than a blazing row.

Now pay attention double o Mininsterium!

If you read the posts correctly you will see that ONLY the rear silencer is described as SS and that bit hasn't rusted!

The pipe that wasn't described as SS, isn't SS and has rusted!

why would you want to take the box out of SS and not te rest ? no pint is there? so annoyed ahhh

The pipe is quite thick though, and it will be a long time before it is anywhere near rusted through.
