I've "cut & pasted" the following MINIUSA press release from PRNewswire.com...
WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Completing its second full operating month, MINI USA reported retail sales for May of 1,796 units and total sales of 4,142. May's figure comprises 1,365 MINI Coopers and 431 MINI Cooper S'. The growing proportion of MINI Cooper S sales reflects the model's increasing availability.
Further MINI dealers are now open for business: MINI of Charleston SC, Roadshow MINI of Memphis TN, and MINI of North Scottsdale AZ. The network now stands at 59 with further dealers opening in the coming months.
MINI dealers are reporting that customers wishing to specify a car can expect a waiting list of a few months. However, for walk-in customers, some dealerships have showroom stock models available.
MINI USA is expected to sell 20,000 cars in its first full year through a network of approximately 70 MINI dealers, when fully established. The 115hp MINI Cooper has an MSRP of $16,850 and the supercharged 163hp MINI Cooper S is $19,850. Both prices include delivery charges.
