Question 2 GRAND difference.

Just been to my 2 local dealers to get a part exchange value for my existing '02 Cooper against a new model with the same spec.
There was a MASSIVE 2 grand difference in their valuations!
How does that work?!

One dealer may have a whole load of part ex's or used MINIs for sale.

There is just one moon and one golden sun; And a smile mean friendship to ev'ryone; Through the mountains divide, and the oceans are wide; It's a small world after all.

The dealer who offered me 2 grand less said "we'll have no trouble selling it - we need lots of second hand Minis".

We went to trade hubbies car in last week, got the same story...."ooh it's a big car, no one wants them....." oh they did my head in and we got offered silly money for it. I went home, got a few quotes off the internet and the next day told the salesmen what we were looking for trade in! It worked....got more or less what we wanted too!!!

So play them at their own game! Be bold! Tell them there are lots more dealerships who want your money, they will soon think about their commission going in someone else's pocket

Unhappy

I was offered just under 9 for my immaculate 02 BRG/W with Chilli pack and CD / Boost with 47k on the clock - which I thought was quite fair?
Then the other one offered me 7!
Privately I think I'm looking at 9.5k?
It's bizarre. They must all go by the same guidelines.
I understand they've all got to make a few quid and no-one begrudges them that - but, 2k?
I think someone's taking the michael!

When sold my ONE the offers ranged from £10,500 to £8,500. I went for a middle offer in the end, as they had the aerokit cheaper, so it worked out in my favour.

same with me - bought a Cooper 4 months ago now has 2,500 on the clock - i'd like to trade it in for a Cooper S and they offered me £12,500 which was £4,500 less than what I paid for it!!!

i think the best bet is to sell privately.

We were told a lot of it is because of the new Reg Minis , and the price will still be the same in a few months time (dealer price) . Glad i never bought a new one now !!!
