will anyone be at the candian grand prix this weekend? i'm heading up tomorrow with my hubby. we are in the gold seats, section 2, in front of the start/finish line, row j.
i wonder if they will have a mini race like they did at the australian grand prix. now that would be fun!
If any of you american guys are heading up to Montreal check mini.ca
They are blocking off a street or something for mini's only and you can park there free and everyone looks after your car for you. Apparently its going to be quite a sight!
Friday, June 7th, 8PM. Peel St. & St. Catherine. There is a big street party and mini owners are invited!

I hope they do have a MINI race to make it more interesting for you because it would be a lot cheaper and more dramatic to stand on a bridge over an interstate than to watch Formula One these days!
Went to see the British Grand Prix last year.
Wont do that again then!!
It's like watching a high speed train!!
The day out will be great, but the F1 racing .... oooh no!!
Unfortunately, my friends always choose bad weekends to have their weddings every year and this Saturday I will be in attendance.
Too bad Montreal is quite a drive, otherwise I'd come out just for the MINI night.

grand prix weekend was great. went to the MINI party on rue peel. lots of music and MINI's, new and classic. squirt did not come to montreal..he would of been the only silkgreen there! the only thing that would of bothered me if i parked squirt there, is that, i don't mind looking..but thousands of people touching? anyway, i didn't seem to notice any of the owners standing by there cars..i even brought pictures to share with the other MINI owners. oh well!
mia - I saw a lot of pics of the party (on roadfly??). Looked like it must have been great!!
chris/eric - how was the helix MINI convoy?

There are some great pictures! I'm kicking myself - I was in Montreal (saw the Ferrari's on Thursday night) but flew home to US on Friday afternoon. If I'd known MINI was throwing such a great party, I would have stayed!
Silver/Black Cooper, that I drove 548 miles home on April 12 '02 (14th buyer from Morristown NJ MINI). My other transportation is a silver Paso Fino - Happy Trails!
The Grand Prix weekend was a blast. The drive to Montreal is about 8 1/2 hours for us and the cars were a real pleasure to drive for that long a time. At times I think a UFO would have gotten a more subtle reaction then two MINIs driving around. There is not a whole lot left to say about the party that has not already been posted. MINI of Canada put on a great event and treated us all like kings. The VIP credentials were a very nice touch. One of the interesting things we saw (and we saw quite a few !) was the hydrogen powered MINI.
All the best
Chris

P.S. There was also a race in town , I think a guy in a red car won. No one seemed the least bit surprised.
