Question Poll: Have you read your MINI's owner's manual?

I've noticed many people asking questions whose answers are quite easy to find in the owner's manual! So, I'm wondering how many MINI owners have really read their car's owner's manual?

Yep, not only read it, but bought a spare copy so I can keep one in the car, and one at home in the funky silver owners package!

I have!!!
The night I got Minnie I took manual to bed and read it in peace so as to absorb all the info!

Not sure all the info went in my head and stayed there though

I was really bored once, so I figured i would go through the manual and see if there's anything new to learn about my MCS.

What else do I have to do during these two months waiting for my MINI but to post on this board and read, and re-read the owners manual?

I downloaded it so I could read it cover-to-cover while awaiting delivery! I'm a very sick person.

Me too....

Also, when I finally got the car, I had to wait a few days for it to be prepared at the dealer (and for me to get the bankers draft). The dealer gave me all the paperwork relating to the car, so I read that cover to cover.

Rtfm!

My wife is always amazed that I know so much about our MINIs (She complained to me one day that her driver's seat was always hot! I calmly pointed out the heated seat switches to her. One of our kids had flipped it out of curiousity...this, in August. "Wow, those will be good in December!" she said....)

At any rate, I'm a firm believer in the concept of "RTFM". That is, "Read The Full Manual."

I also bought the Maintainance Manaul--size of two phone books, lots of pictures--and now I realize I have to buy several thousand dollars worth of BMW speciality tools, too!

I'm not one to read user's manuals, however the MINI manual is more a source of entertainment.

Thanks to it being available on the web site, I read it twice during the suspenseful wait for my MINI to be built!

Read it? You actually opened it? Violated it with grubby fingers? NEVER! It will remain forever pristine along with our unopened pack of sMINTS and MINI-logo ball-pen

Actually, we were among the desperate crowd who downloaded it and read it weeks ahead of time. The only bad part was that the 2005 manual wasn't online until we picked up the car, so we had to be satisfied with the 2004 manual (and mildly confused at the differences).

Maybe we should go back to the SUV thread and change the 90% that annoyed everyone to 98%

I read mine at least a couple of time BEFORE I took delivery of my car, thanks to the nice people at my dealership who let me "borrow" a copy beforehand

I learnt from the manual about one-click on remote to open driver side door only and asked for this to be programmed prior to taking delivery

Where'd you get the manual??
Is it an aftermarket add on? Does it add hp?
