| MINI Nut | Who compliments your car? I was wondering, who compliments your car the most? In my case it's my dad - he would stand next to my car and tell me what a really beautiful car it is and that I shouldn't sell it and that if he wasn't getting on in years, he would prefer to have one. 2nd on the list - strangely enough are old ladies - they would walk up to me and compliment me on my choice of car and that they absolutely love it. Thirdly are some of my friends whom everytime they see me, they just want to hold the MINI's keys and ask me when I'm taking them for a drive... and fourthly are clients - strangely always telling me that their wifes would like one ![]() |

Offline | I normally get compliments from my friends, and I also have a lot of friends who like to hold the keys and sit in the car and ask for a drive, etc. My uncle is a complete MINI fan and he always compliments me on my choice when he sees my car. Other than that, I have a few female friends who absolutely love the car, and look for any excuse to to be picked up when going out. I completely enjoy any attention the car attracts. |

Offline | Strangers on the road will invariably give me a big grin and the thumbs-up signal. I don't know who is grinning ear-to-ear more, me, or the people on the road ogling my MINI Cabrio. |

Offline | I got........uh, I mean my MINI got.........some really enthusiastic reactions from the babes when I first got it, but that was in very early '03 when there weren't that many MINIs around. I still get ....darn, I mean my MINI gets........a random thumbs up from the high school girls now and again. Occasionally guys my age (I'm 49) will say something. The most frequent positive responses, however, come from elderly ladies....they think it's a cute car and aren't too cool to say so. I think a lot of people admire my IB/W Cooper but are too self-conscious or preoccupied to say something. It still does look fabulous!!!!!!! |

Offline | Who compliments MINIs? Everyone My next door neighbour has a MINI as well, and its amazing how many folk walk past and point at the two cottages with the MINIs in the driveways. What makes it more amusing is that our MINIs match the colour scheme of the detailing on our houses (not intentionally, I may add!). Trev has the really dark, maroony red (can't remember the name) on his MO which goes with the dark red woodwork on his house - mine is CR/W which goes with the red/cream detailing on ours. |

Offline | Compliments have come in two categories: 1) Random people of all ages in public. At gas stations, parking lots, the market, the mailbox, on the sidewalk, walking down the street, from other vehicles, in bars... 2) From people of all ages who have ridden in Electra. They who are lucky enough to have gone motoring realize it and compliment her all the time! I prefer the repeat compliments. Especially later on in their relationship with my baby when they say "I really REALLY like your car!" Life is too short to be miserable. Let's dance! |

| sandwiches | I'll agree with this one.....for me, i always get compliments and questions while i'm filling up. and of course, my mother loves it (i think it's more because she's not having to pay for it, as this is the first car i've purchased on my own......lucky me ) |

Offline | lots of people! Mostly work mates and friends. The ladies love it! I was out having a few bevs (only diet coke for me) with a friend and her friends. I offered them a lift home, when we got the carpark, they asked which car...i pointed to it, and they were all screaming 'WOW cool' etc, made me feel happy ![]() |

Offline | 1. Kids 2. Mothers (lots of MILF, apologies to those who are easliy offended. So the kids and mothers thing is not all bad!) 3. Lasses in general including the missus (she's always boasting about how cool my car is to people, you'd think it was her car!) 4. Blokes in garages with really flash cars, lots of guys driving Ferraris and Astons have said they really like/impressed it (usually cos they have been following me on the twisties etc or I have been behind them keeping up with ease) but that it just doesn't have the appeal they want. 5. Occasionally random people in carparks will give it a glance or smile but usually don't say much. |

They are only jealous One of the offending characters drives a clio 172 cup, when I call it a Billabong he soon shuts up about the mini being a hairdressers car ![]() |
