Random question, but what are the little green rectangle things under your name when you make a post? Why do people have more than others? I'm so confused!

It's called reputation

When you are viewing threads there is an R button top right of each post. If you click on that and then confirm the action window then you will have increased that individual's reputation.

So in theory, the more green dots the better reputation that person has. But don't read too much into this since it's not always reliable
