How can this be, someone please explain...

So yesterday I discovered a chip mark on the drivers side A-pillar exterior black plastic trim bit and I it's driving me nuts. So I went to the dealership this morning to get a price for a replacement unit. So here's the shocker that just doesn't make sense to me. The above mentioned plastic trim piece for the passanger side, costs R343.00 (about £29) and the one for the drivers side costs R475 (about £41) - why do the price differ for the same exact part, but just for different sides. Does anyone know why???

I don't know why, but if you have a good insurance and your front windshield is also insured you should crack your windshield and get it replaced, it comes with two brand new black A-pilars.

I dont know whether this is available to you but have you tried ringing other dealers for a price ?

I had a split in my drivers side and had it replaced under warrenty, and then the replacement flew off !

Take it off yourself and go to a different dealers and say it flew off.....

yep, they're notorious for breaking off. if you don't want to be that extreme prise off the lower section until the clip breaks & tell them it just came loose. it happens all the time

I will buy a new unit, but ask the dealership to replace it for me. The car needs to go in to the dealership next week anyways... so I'll just ask the technician - were on great speaking term and hopefully he won't book it and this no charge - I mean it can't take more than 5min.
