So, I'm about to order my first MINI in a few days and as I made a last run through the dealership price list, I noticed something that's got a me a bit intrigued. You see I'm planning on getting a pepper white w/ black top, and with the Sports Package, the bonnet stripes that are apart of that package. And with the pepper white paint, I'd like to get the solid black bonnet stripes (no white pin stripes), but therein lies my problem. The Sports Package seems only to include the bonnet stripes with the pin stripe borders, and not the solid black pin stripes.

Is this really correct? And is there any precedence for dealers making the switch at no charge?

Those are the only ones that are put on at the factory (the ones with pin stripes), They are not put on at the dealer. The dealer would charge you because he would have to purchase the stripes himself and install them himself.

yeah... we didn't realise this and my mum has PW with white pinstripes on it. you can't really tell, but it would look better close up without

Yeah, I wasn't sure if you could tell or not, so thanks for the info MiniAdventurer!

After talking to my MA at the dealership, he suggested that if I wanted the solid black bonnet stripes, I should talk to CooperFlags. He apparently spoke with a rep there and found that I can have the solid black bonnet stripes for a total of about $60 USD installed -- a big change from the $395 USD that the dealership would charge! So, if they can do as good of a job as the dealership, I think I'd be hard pressed to pass on the deal.
