What's the yellow light on the stick?

Sorry. Thought I saw this ages ago, but now can't re-find the thread.
There used to be a red end to the turn signal wand/stick...but now I see yellow...
even tho' my car has no alarm on it.
Could you share what it's for?

And, also, any chance we could replace w/silver or red again...
as the pale yellow just doesn't go w/my black/silver interior...
nor my BEP exterior. (I only saw it peeking at my car today)
Delivery is tomorrow evening, if things go well.

That's for the washer fluid level.
When it gets low the light flashes to remind you to refill the bottle

Not sure about changing the colour

It can be replaced with red (the alarm stock instead of the washer stalk I believe). Ian Cull did it...go to www.gbmini.net and check it out...

Since my MINI is LY, I prefer the yellow light.

I wonder if one can just swap out the tip of the stalk?

If so, I wonder if any other Liquid Yellow owners (pre-'05) would be interested in a swap...
as I'd prefer red or silver, even.

I did read that the electrics of the stalks hasn't changed in prior years.

Hmmm....

A quick question......

Does the yellow light flash all the time when the washer fluid is low or does it just flash for a few seconds at start up ?

Mine came on first time last night on start up , flashed for a few secs then went off. If you use the washer it will flash again or again on start up.

Do you live in Cali? The only reason I ask is one of my only complaints about the MINI is how small the reservoir for the washer fluid is. I have an early '05 with a stalk w/out that light and would dearly love to have that feature because of the poor weather here in Maine.

You might want to see how handy it comes in before you ditch the stalk...if anything, I would recommend changing to the red in its place.

Just my .02
