MINI Keyed

I suppose I was due for the next lot of vandelism. After all, it has been a whole month or so since the last incident...

I went down this morning to find that someone had pushed my wing mirror in. I popped it back out, then noticed that someone had keyed the passenger door. It's only about 10cm, but it's very deep. It'll be a respray.

It's not even about the money. I'm just so upset. It always seems to happen to me. I swear it's because MINIs stand out.

What'll be next?

Yep. About a month ago, the aerial got nicked. Before that, my front number plate was snapped off. And now this.

Sorry to hear about this, are you in a position where you could put some cctv up, or security lights ?

Maybe look into renting a garage ?

Well it's like this... I'm a student. At home in Hertfordshire, we have a driveway. There's never been a problem with the cars and I'd be surprised if there was. It's just not that kind of area (without sounding snobbish). At the moment, I'm at university in Leeds, and this is where all the delights keep happening. Unfortunately, I have to park it along the street and there's really no alternative. Maybe I just won't bring it up with me anymore.

Really feel sorry for you

Would a car cover help, or would this just make it stand out more?

I think in my situation, it would make it stand out even more. It's along a street, so it would stick out like a sore thumb.

So sorry for you sebby. Hope it's not too costly to put right.

What part of Leeds is it out of interest? I'm in Halifax, but go to uni in Leeds too.

Thanks. It's not even the money so much. It's upsetting more than anything.

I live near Headingley. I think this kind of vandelism happens a lot round here.

I think a lot of this kind of stuff happens round Uni's. I went to visit my mate at Uni down in Cardiff last weekend, left the car at his place before we went into town to watch the footy. Then he thought it would be wise to tell me how people go round snapping off windscreen wipers etc! I couldn't stop worrying for the rest of the day!

Yeah, I think you're right.

It's just upsetting, it's not even about the money. I have calmed down a bit since earlier anyway.

Drunken students and drunken reprobates.

We have the same problem. My brothers old Dark Silver MCS got keyed right outside our house and we've caught numerous kids trying to thieve the metal dust caps.
