Offline | Hello! I've looked through search and google, but am still unsure on this. I was told when I bought my cooper that it'd have an aux port (so I can link my ipod/sat nav). However, I haven't been able to find one! I found a pic of one behind the drinks holders, and I do have something that looks like a port (possibly just a screw!) but there's no way I can fit a standard headphone adaptor thing in there. Any idea where I should be looking and what I should be looking for?! I have an 05 cooper with loads of extras.... thanks, Tom. |

Offline | If you're sure your car came with an aux port then I think you'll find it to the left on the inside of the glove compartment. That's where I last heard about it being located anyway ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | did you buy it new from a dealer? To see if your car has the aux input connected, which is a separate option installed after the car's delivery, press the "mode" button and scroll thru the options...if "aux" is in there, then the input is installed and the jack is there someplace ( most likely in the glove box, but could be under the switch panel or in the parcel shelf ).....if "aux" is not in there, then you can have the dealer install one, or purchase it on your own ( about $35 US ) and search the forum for do it yourself instructions. |

Offline | http://outmotoring.com/mini_auxilary_audio_input.html It's an official MINI option, you can also order it from your dealers parts department. Just don't pay the dealer to install, mine charges $160 (above the overpriced $40 for the part), when all you do is plug it in and mount the jack! - John |

Offline | definitely do it yourself.......usually, if something supposedly takes 10 minutes to install, it'll take me an hour...the install for the aux input literally took less than 5 minutes to plug the cable in to the HU.....I did not need to remove the HU in my 2004 MC to reach behind to plug the cable into the HU....I then drilled the jack into my parcel shelf and have an mp3 player or portable walkman cassette player lying on the shelf...I bought a retractible mini-to-mini cable to make it easy to adjust something w/o unplugging or have wires all tangled....good luck......but first double check then with your dealer as it sounds like you ordered it, so maybe you already paid for it and they forgot?? |
