Recieved an e-mail back from Tesco's, I asked "Are there any plans to install 99 ron pumps in the more northern forecourts" their reply was "At the moment there are no plans to supply 99 ron in the more northern area's. Any roll out in the north are dependant on the success of the petrol in the south". So my suggestion you southeners..... get buying!!! hehe

I didnt think about it like that, you would of though they would put them up in the north because we have the best roads (I think) around!!! We have all the different yorkshire dales, and the Lake District.

This is different compared to the normal supermarket fuels though.

I don't think that Tesco have confirmed that additives and detergents are present in the 99RON fuel, so I'm steering clear of it.

The only cars that I fuel at supermarkets are hire cars.

Over the past 16 months, I have run lots of different fuels in The Minx...I can never tell the difference between supermarket 95RON and Shell 95 RON... Optimax/BP Ultimate definitely give more performance....

I'll swing by The Meadows this weekend and get some Tesco 99RON

Wonder how much it is.... BP Ultimate in Farnborough is circa 95p/litre

My Audi Cabrio 2.3 runs significantly better on Optimax than regular unleaded - and it isn't a sports car - it's a cruiser - it also seems to get better mpg. When my MCS arrives in Jan I plan to run it on Optimax as much as I can.

http://www.greenergy.com/products/99_octane.html

"Greenergy supplies the new 99 Octane Super Unleaded petrol now on sale at selected Tesco forecourts. This performance fuel has the highest octane rating (RON) of any petrol currently on sale at UK forecourt chains and contains an enhanced additive package to help remove engine deposits and ensure smooth engine running.

The fuel contains a specially formulated mix of high quality petrol components, carefully blended to achieve 99 Octane. These typically include 5% bioethanol, a renewable but also high-octane product."

Well, there's the red light that's marginally brighter than the rest of the dial.. you know the one.. it vanishes as the needle goes over it!! Then you run out.. it's not the best is it!!

My Golf used to DING DING DING at me when it was getting low and print the words 'Please Refuel' on it's little screen. So polite
