London To Brighton

My first drive from Crystal Palace to Brighton yesterday, was such a good day. The weather was fantastic. Traffic was pretty bad out of brighton onto the A23..only afterwards did my mate tell me that Hove was the best route out of there. Nonetheless an amazing day.

I used bt ultimate for the journey..do these higher octane petrols such as 99 RON , Shell Optimax and BP's offerings actually improve performance? I think so, but this may just be a placebo.. also..perhaps related to the fuel, i noticed, on the homeward journey that my car kind of whines between 5-6k revs. It's not a bad kind of whining, sounds a little similar to that of the power steering noise. (you always know when a mini's coming round the corner because of that noise)..i'm driving a one so its definately not a supercharger. It may have been present before, but as the roads were so quiet (in both senses of the word) on the way home i noticed it this time.

Any help wold be appreciated..

yeah i was waving on the way back.. a bit hard when a chavved out fiesta is right up your backside trying to overtake the whole journey though... i hate it when that happens on the motorway, it takes up much needed concentration.

it was very hot there, lovely weather, i spent a while down at the marina , had a pub lunch outside..i got a bit sunburnt too.. You're right about it being a classic event..i only saw 20 BMW MINI's there in total i think..one of which was a MCSC Works.with a flip job..most expensive mini i'm guessing... absolutely amazing..see pic. All the lovely classic minis made me want t get one when i'm a bit older..as a project car or something..
