Mini say I have no TLC

Just had a call from the dealer who serviced my mini a few weeks ago. He says according to their database my Mini has no TLC package and I am liable for the cost of servicing. I bought the car as ex demo and was told it had the TLC pack, one service was already done by the supplying dealer and the voucher torn out. Sytners tore the other out on the last service. So as far as I am concerned I have TLC and the appropriate booklet to go with it with my car details written in - but dealer says different. I have checked my purchase invoice and it is handwritten on by the salesman (thus difficult to prove I suppose) Yet another hiccup to ruin the Mini experience.

If they've given you the booklet, surely that's enough, along with the invoice, even if it's hand-written.

just had a call saying on this occasion the supplying dealer will cover the cost of the service (how kind of them) but I will have the same problem next time. I have also been told I will not (or any other owner of the car) be able to purchase the TLC extra as mine "hasn't" got tlc in the first place. Time to consult a solicitor i think. I wish I had never bought it.

Bad luck, sir. But as you say, time to consult a solicitor. With it on the invoice and having been given the book, you'd expect them to stump up.

Surely you only get the tlc booklet if you have tlc . Have just looked at my booklet and the first page is completed (by hand) with my dealer's name, car chassis number, engine number and tlc Book Issue No...does your booklet have this info completed?

I hope you get this sorted asap, good luck
