Offline | I just returned the Demo (dealer gave it to us for 4 days), but I can't seem to figure out how the high pressure headlight washer system works (how to turn it on). Anybody know how to activate it? |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | The washers are supposed to activate the first time the lever is pulled when the headlamps are illuminated and then every third time after that. However, it seems that they can sometimes develop a mind of their own and work on a different schedule. My '02 would usually work as specified, but there were times when the headlamps were washed with every pull of the lever. |

Offline | Yep, every third time. We always have dipped lights on here so I don't know what happens when they're off. But it makes sense that they only operate with the lights on ![]() Global Moderator ![]() |

Offline | Well, I know mine is a lot more than three. I've tried having someone pull the lever for me so I could see the little arms in action, but so far without success. Not sure of how many pulls, but at least three. 04 BRG/W MCS |

Offline | On my 03 cooper, they used to activate only when dipped or main headlights are on. With my 05 MCS, I'm sure they went off when I had only sidelights on the other day! (That seems pretty pointless!) Did I imagine this or has anyone else had this experience?? HBB MCS |

Offline | Well, that's just stupid! If you've only got sidelights on then you are wasting washer fluid on lights that aren't even turned on!! I wonder if this can be programmed back at the dealers? HBB MCS |

Offline | On my 2004 mini , to activate the washer the headlights must be on and you need to hold the washer on for ~ 2 sec. ( just a qiuck mist won't do it). I think the operators manual mentions something about a time interval before it will activate them again |
