Picked our new MINI up Saturday! Hello cautionespn, We picked up our Hyper Blue COOPER S on Saturday. Had to wait about 5 weeks for it to be built and sent over the pond. I too was blown away when I took a test drive in the begining of May. I never imagined that a car can be so much fun, and I'm in the auto parts business! We were very excited and a bit nervous Saturday. But as we drove the car home (about 1 1/2 hrs) I coundn't wipe the smile off my face. Brought her home and put a fresh coat of wax on her and waxed the wheels Sunday. We have the Prem Package, Sort Package, Chrome line Ext. and the Harmon/Kardon sound system. You were very fortunate to find your MINI in stock, Because around here they are hard to find, new or used. I too would like to thank the people on this site for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm. I have been addicted to this site since April when getting a MINI was just a dream. I have learned alot from the forums. To the person or people that designed this site, You are awesome!

Congratulations to both of you! I too am picking up Domino from the dealership Monday evening!! I have been absolutely hooked on MINI's since I first learned about them a little over 2 years ago! That was also 2 years before I was even legally allowed to drive! I am finally 16 now, and I feel fortunate enough to have parents who also see how great the MINI is! I've transformed them into loving the MINI as much as me! (well, almost )All of these websites that help us along with the MINI experience are invaluable. I have learned so much throughout the past few years and I owe ever bit of knowledge to these people. Everyone owes these moderators a great deal of thanks for providing all these services!

PIcked up the Mini yesterday and put 50 miles on it last night. Took turns driving with cautionespn-ette and wow, what a great time we had hitting the backroads! We kep tit under 4500 rpms and will probably adhere to the "break-in" guidelines just because we love the car so much. I commuted to work in it today (it will be my regular commute car) and was amazed how it handles on the highway too (less amazed than I would have been if I had never driven it before though! Passing was terrific, and even when I hit the bumper to bumper on rt 128 south in MA it was still OK because the car is so pleasant to sit in as well. Didn't spot any other Minis on the way to work but I wasn't looking very hard. I'm going to try to take some pictures tonight and post them here later. Quick thanks to anyone who might be reading this who participated in the CVT forum because it gave some great pointers on how to drive the car.
