Offline | The bonnet scoop isn't pretty, but it certainly does the business. Went out for a blast in the heat of the afternnon yesterday, 30 degrres C and very stuffy, and it was quite noticable that the car does not suffer from 'heat exahustion' like it used to - it flys along even when the air is hot and muggy. I don't like BBR as a company, but this mod is certainly worth doing for the money if you don't want serious power loss in the summer... or if you live in hotter climates. |

Offline | your right, it would be better. however, the BBR thingy is actually very effective (this surprised me as I was scepticle) cost just 70 of quid, as apposed to around 400-500 for a larger IC, and means I still have the full look of the JCW conversion under the bonnet. Probably time that JCW thought about an uprated IC unit.... i had intended to only use the BBR scoop on track days (I was seaching for a second normal scoopt to swap it out with) however, I found the performance gain so noticable during warm periods that I decided to stick with it all the time. Its defianlty a function over form thing.... |

Offline | it sure is. ITs simply stuck on with very strong double sided tape. You have to thorughly clean the scoop surface first, then heat up both the scoop and the added plastic bit with a hot air gun (or powerful hair dryer) in order to get a good seal and strong fit. Leave 24 hours before driving the car... |

Offline | Its similar - u have the basic Traffic master system, mine was a retro fit system with the digital display. You touch the screen, and it calls the traffic master centre where u speak to a operator and tell them where u want to go. There are 2 methods of psying for this service, either in the same manner as a telephone, each call/route costs a fixed price (about 80p I think) or by having a yearly subscription, which works out at £10 a month. The system is basically built around a GSM phone, and there are three levels of service, basic directions/speed trap locations/tracker system. This is mine.... http://www.trafficmaster.co.uk/page.cfm?key=touchscreen Its a very good service. Directions are near perfect and easy to use, and of course, unlike all other systems, its 'smart' - it knows the traffic conditions ahead, and will re-route you if necessary if theres a traffic jam ahead. |
