Offline | new here. buying a mini? Hello. I am trying to look into the possibilty of purchasing a mini. I had a few questions and was hoping the mini2 community might be able to help me out I own a 95 toyota supra, turbo and all that, quite fast. My girlfirend is into cars just as much as I am and she would love to keep up with me on the road. The end product im looking for in a Mini is a 12s second 1/4 mile (cant let her get into the 11's with me ). As much knowledge as I do have with working on cars, I know ZERO about the mini coopers. Im also trying to keep the cost down as low as possible. So my question is, what car should I buy? Buying the cooper that has all the work done will cost 5x the $. What I would like to do is buy a wrecked cooper, fix it, upgrade it, and then drive it. Nont only do i save loads of $, but its also so much fun and rewarding doing it yourself. But what are the faster coopers running? What can the stock internals withstand? Do you guys upgrade the supercharger? Or switch to turbos? WIll the stock 5spd trans hold enough power to hit 12s? Would it be more cost efficeint to buy the non S cooper since i might have to replace all the internals anyways and bigger supercharger? Or are the more differences than just engine with the S and non S.Sorry if this has been posted before. Im new to the forum here and that makes it hard to serach the appropriate critera/areas for the answers im looking for. If there is a thread, if you wouldnt mind pointing me in that direction ![]() Thanks in advance for the help! Looking foward to chatting with you guys, and hopefully building a great cooper! Free IPOD, it really works! I paid $6.95 for my $300 Ipod -Ben 1995 TT Supra 6spd Targa Winter rebuild in progress Check This > www.benjaminpowers.com |
