Where's the VIN?

Hi folks, quick noob Q I fear, but couldn't find it in the FAQ...

Where abouts on a 2004 mini (Cooper S) is the VIN recorded? I'm off to see a 2nd hand car and the AA car check offers some sort of guarentee if I can validate the VIN on the car matches that on the paperwork.

Hi Bobster, Check under the bonnet on the right front strut tower(that is left if your looking at the engine from the front). That's where I saw it on my 2005MCS.

On display in the windscreen, bottom corner (passenger side UK if I recall).

On mine, USA MCS 2005, the VIN is everywhere. Left bottom of windscreen, under the bonnet, right strut tower, rear hatch - under the lisc plate.
