Offline | I've been officially "Released" for transport... Just in time for those feared Lot Jockeys to take it for a full throttle rip onto a train car on its way to the German port of exit... Yikes... God's speed little Mini, God's speed... Last edited by Rich_W : Jun 18th, 2002 at 09:52 AM. |

Offline | True... they are built in England... But... (according to MiniUSA) export distribution is handled through BMW's logistics. So, as It was explained to me, Minis are shipped via rail to BMW's port of exit. Someone correct me if I'm wrong... because it does seem strange. |

Offline | Port of Exit is Bremerhaven Per Mini USA (1-866-ASK-MINI)... Bremerhaven, Germany is the port of exit. Export Coopers are transported via high speed train (apparently only a 1/2 day trip) through the Eurotunnel to the regular BMW port of exit. As of Today... I am now Status 182... Realeased to the Train Carrier... Next comes Status 190, which is abord the train. If you are interested in Tracking your Mini once you receive a Ship name, you can track the ship here: W&W Shipping Lines |

Offline | Production Date was 6/7/02 I got my hands on a Mini destined for dealer stock... Lucky me... and paying MSRP too boot. Its also a stripped Cooper S... only option being silver paint. I came abord on June 10th at Status 150... produced, but still at the factory... now on the 18th, things are progressing nicely. (BTW, Mini of Westchester, NY also has another stripped Cooper S red/white, Prod No. 3501771, VIN:WMWRE33512TD53731, on its way actually a week ahead, I think, of my pure silver that is still available... It has the 17" wheel option... ask for 'Mercedes' if you call there... she is a doll. Its already on the boat...Should be in country by the first of July.) Offline | Re: Port of Exit is Bremerhaven Well now that raises an interesting question. We have that whole thread devoted to MINIs being abused by a couple of delivery drivers at the docks in Southampton which would now seem to be questionable again. Does it depend on where your car is being shipped to perhaps? |

Offline | Re: Honestly... I'm not really worried about it much either, my point was that the cars were being shipped out of Southampton not Bremerhaven. There is another post on that thread that talks about seeing lots of MINIs at Southampton as well. |

| heterochromic & loving it | Re: Re: Honestly... And there's the minor issue that cars people have been tracking have status listings on the Wallenius page that say things like: Cargo Id: TE11447 Booking Number: GBSOU85130 Vessel: JINGU MARU Voyage: EA224-JGM Priority: Bill Number: GB71360 Port of Origin: SOUTHAMPTON Port of Destination: NEW YORK, NY Customer Ref. Number: LOADED ON VESSEL - SOUTHAMPTON - 17/06/2002 13:19 RECEIVED AT TERMINAL - SOUTHAMPTON - 12/06/2002 13:31 BOOKED - SOUTHAMPTON - 14/05/2002 12:18 From looking at the various "voyage detail" pages on the Wallenius website, it looks like the ships themselves may originate out of Bremerhaven earlier each voyage, but the cars aren't loaded there. -Ricardo |

| MINI2 Master | Methinks that the freighters' home port is Bremerhaven -Southampton is the first stop on the way to the US (and elsewhere) - MINIs are on-loaded there. ![]() 2002 BRG/W [BRidGet] traded in on 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper [?name?] 2005 #1 wrecked by SUV on 6/03/05 2005 Jet Black/White/White Cooper (2005 #2) [?name?] picked up on 6/24/05 |

Offline | Re: Port of Exit is Bremerhaven You can't believe everything MINI USA tells you. My 'S' finished being built on 05/28 and was loaded on the vessel Tricolor in Southampton on 05/30. The Tricolor was previously in Bremerhaven on 05/27. It doesn't make sense to rail them to Bremerhaven when Southampton is closer to the factory. ![]() |
