Two-way Radios I'm looking a getting a set of two-way radios, so I can keep up with the banter at the runs. I'm thinking of the Motorola T5522, and have found a website selling a pair set for £69 including postage (link below). Does anyone have any thoughts? Good deal, good handsets???? http://www.twoway-radio.co.uk/trolle...#MOTOROLAT5522

The Motorola sets have far superior audio quality and feel more robust. The 5522's have been discontinued, but Maplin still supply the 5422's which I have. They're great units. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...38263&doy=5m7D

That's a pretty good deal for Motorola's. Does it include the charger? IMHO, the only model worth getting is the Motorola's. I had a cheap pair for a while, but the quality was rubbish and they broke after the second season snowboarding. The Motorola's are on their 3rd season and look brand new. Milhouse: "We have to spread this stuff around - let's put it on the internet!" Bart: "No, we have to reach people whose opinions actually matter."

T5422s are available as a twin pack with one docking station and charger, pretty good value IMHO ![]() Not very good if you just want one radio though as you can't charge the radios without the docking station. The true replacement of the well-respected T6222s, namely the XTL446 is now available at about 60 GBP each for a very high spec radio. However, one should ask whether he/she really needs voice scrambling, vibration alert etc... ![]() For going on runs, socials and events like static shows and race meet, I would go for the T5422s if I had a tight budget ![]() BTW, I would advise getting a PTT ear bug or a boom mike and a lanyard, so that you can wear the radio around your neck and still be able to hear the conversation without the need to hold the radio in your hand, which I found difficult due to my small hands ![]() One may not be able to hear the radio too well when it is hanging from the neck with noisy background, hence my suggestion to get an ear bug or boom mike ![]() My 2p ![]() DK :apple:

I've got a pair of the T5522 and i lost won skiing. It took me a while but i found a company that sells all the part separately and at good prices. It might be worth giving them a ring to see what deal they can do. Give em a wurl! http://www.oakleaftrading.co.uk/
