Offline | Mini Questions Finally our new Mini dealership has opened, i had sneak look around yday, albeit the cherished ones, to see a D, i didnt go inthe dealership as i dont have enough time+know id push purchase one, Im goin away 2 dubai on thurs, i cant wait 2 get back actually go and test drive a Mini One D, and hopefully buy one,the running costs make so much sense Whats the depreciation on brand new mini one D per month over 1year old?? my current car loses £200 amonth, and i only get about 220-230 to a tank.(8.8gallon tank) Suzuki jimny My calculations show me, part x, if i put cash in and get a loan, the fuel +insurance savings over wud give me the Mini One D for 6months free. If i included the depreciation on keepin jimny another year, i could have had the Mini and paid a year of the Payments. Mad aint it . I was just gonna add the mini depreciation to my spreadsheet calculations to make it lool fairer. Dark glass - worth it? can anyone see insideyour car, any windows?? Should i do something with the roof, i was just thinking of having it match the body colour. Electric blue is what i want for my MOD. Id have the pepper pack +also the chrome interior etc Wiv the computer. Is there a setting where, if you stick to a speed, like 50mph, the computer will say what your MPG would be if u stick to that speed? If so does it change all the time as you are accelerating until you stabilise your speed? what does everyone mean, that they have just learned to drive it now, whats the differences & techniques? |

Offline | Blimey, hold on while I think! Adjusting your driving style means changing gear a lot earlier to go quicker, than in a Petrol, well, changine gear a lot actually, use the torque! On a £14,300 brand new OneD I got a return of £10,500 after 1 year and 10 months, 20,000miles on the clock, so depreciation is about the same as your current car! I would say avoid early cars such as June '03's as my new '05 seems to go a lot better, and my old one always struggled to start when hot, and they never had a fix for it even after taking it in 5 times for that problem, it was more annoying than anything! As for roof decals, there are a few photos of MINI OneD's on the Diesel forum in the "16K On a Diesel" thread, including my EB/EB one. The computer tells you overall average MPG, and constant MPG (what it is doing at the time) it doesn't predict fuel economy, only fuel range (based on amount of fuel in tank, and current driving style) Let us know what you decide, but do stop number crunching and go and buy one!!! Dark glass- Don't know, I think you will be able to see in the car, just not as easily! |
