I would have asked you to perform a search on the subject, however, I just can't resist your enthusiasm for this site and the MINI, so here you go

Cruise Control comes with the Multi-function steering wheel and cannot be fitted aftermarket. The complete MFSW package is around 240 GBP or so (2002 price).

The Multi-function steering wheel allows you to control your ICE from the wheel, including changing volume, type (tape/radio/CD etc.), move forward and backward within an album/CD.

As mentioned, Cruise Control comes with MFSW, it allows you to set your speed and cruise, as well as speed adjustment etc...

If you opt for Chilli Pack for a Cooper, you will get a reduction on MFSW of 80 GBP (2002 price) for the leather steering wheel, which is included in the Chilli Pack.

For 160 GBP (2002 price, and with Chilli Pack discount) I considered MFSW as a bargain, still do, and so do a lot of other people!

You would need to check the current prices yourself - I am going by 2002 prices here

Its handy if you do a fair bit of motorway drving where/when the roads aren't too busy - but I hardly ever use mine.

Dora the only thing you got wrong is highlighted above. Otherwise all else is correct.Unless you are referring to non OEM then you may be correct
I had mine done last year and it cost approx £700.00 One of the better mods to do if not bought with car new

I have an 04 MINI ONE with MFSW and i thought that you couldn't change between functions i.e tape cd,radio by using the steering wheel mounted buttons.Am i wrong in thinking this and do i need to go and look at the instructions?

I did not realise it can now be fitted retrospecitively, however, in 2002, that option was not available

Besides, 240 GBP factory fitted vs. 700 GBP aftermarket, I'd tell you what I would choose

Psssst, does Gail know about the true cost of how much it cost to be fitted aftermarket?

Sorry, can't answer you unless I know whether your steering wheel is the same as the one fitted on 02 cars. The one I have allows me to change the function on my Cassette BOOST remotely, however, one of the buttons is non-functional

The later (Sept 04) MFSW is different and doesn't have the function change thingy. All you can do with the new (3 spoke) wheel is Volume & Track, or station if on radio. Very different design to the older 2 spoke wheel.

Hope this helps.

I love the Cruise Control. Don't do a huge amount of CC driving but it has saved my license a fair bit!
