New PW/B mini for me! a lot of questions tho..

Hi all! i finally got my oreo!! and im LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVING it
i have lots of questions for u guys tho!
i realized how many things i been missing cuz of the excitement for getting my baby..

1) extended warranty. is it worth it??

2) Clear mask. is it worth it??

3) how about alarm? which one would u prefer? after-market or retrofit one?

4) is there any way i can keep my original keys instead of those fancy after market key thingy??


dealer talked to my mom into getting extended warranty and maintainance..
so my mom added them in and i wanted to get the clear mask thing to avoid stone chips and scratches.. but i thought it could be worthless

mask could be added later on so i just left without it
but still thinking on warranty thing..
i was planning to keep my car around 3 to 4 years but i donno
is it really worth it??

and this one thing that upset me was!
there was like a chip on interior!! like the drivers side door dash!
and there was also a small scratch..
and a huge scratch on passenger side rim...
i complained and the dealer said they will fix it or replace it for me..
but i AM sad...........

help me out guys!

1) I got the extended waranty, it covers the replacement of break pads which I believe are due sometime between 36 and 50 thousand miles so I thought that would at least cover that and plus it is an extra 14000 miles your covered on. I plan on keeping my car 4-5 years probably and I believe that I will be glad that I have the warranty
2) I did not get the clear mask, its really a judgement call. I did not like it that much. I have 2000 miles and no stone chips on my mini, well I did when I left the US two months ago so I dont know if my mom has managed to get any since then...
3)The mini has a rather good alarm to start off with. at least i know the cooper S does.. Why do you feel you need another one? Are you going to fit a aftermarket stero in it?
4)What do you mean your original keys? Your mini should come with 2 mini keys... they are expensive to replace too. I think they are like 90 bucks a piece.

Oh no i didn't get alram on my cooper.. thats why im looking for one..

I have the clear bra and love it. It feels safer to scrub on when a person is applying elbow grease to the bug splats!

The extended warranty is traditionally a dealer rip-off. The MINI already has a good warranty. My friend who worked for a dealer and used to sell them says "IT"S NOT WORTH IT".

Bummer about the scratches...make sure your dealer fixes them. Where did you finally buy from?
