Checkmate for new mini owner

Hi all,
I've been lurking here on the boards since I saw the Knauz mini crew a couple of Sundays ago while riding on Hunt Club. I've decided, after a few test drives, to order a 2006 JCW Cooper S with the Checkmate package. Space blue and silver, chrono, chrome, and a few other bits. Biggest concern, as a bike racer, was room for the bike(s), however it looks like the rear rack may work. This is really exciting since the time my wife and I left the showroom from our first test drive, she asked "so when are we getting our new Mini?"
Which brings me to my question - if JCW production isn't scheduled to begin until Oct as well as Checkmate availability, do you think it will be available by late Nov (for Chicago)? I just need to make sure I time the selling of my 2003 VW GTI VR6 and the inevitable purchase of snow tires.

I've been putting my road bike in the back with the seats down. It fitted with just the front wheel off until I put tri bars on, now I have to take both off. I've never liked the idea of having my bike on the outside of the car!
