| uumm i had a set of spotlamps installed and was told that to get them working when the main beams come on then you have to do something with the ECU....ie you had to take it to a dealer or another company who had access to a laptop which can be plugged into the mini's computer and set them up.....don't ask me why, but i was told by both minimania who fitted them for me and the bmw dealer that this was the case so i'm guessing you need to install em and then take it somewhere to get the ECU configured for it |

| http://www.mini2.com/guides/pdf/Driving_Lights_9__.pdf Will this help at all. I also read that the official mini lights need programming by the dealer to get them to work. 2001 cooper (sold) ![]() 1995 Supra RZ-S TT auto in white. |

| I think, but not very often, that brown is earth, white/green is high beam and yellow/green is low beam (dipped). I don't really understand all this programming needed malarky as at some stage a good old fashioned hot wire must go into the headlamps. The wires you have discovered I believe to be post module control unit. So I can't see why you can't use the white/green to activate a relay for power to the spots. Don't try this just yet though, someone may turn up a wiring diagram for non-BMW spots that do something similar. By the way I am not criticising those who told you about the programming needed as they are correct for the official version. ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |

Right, thanks for the info guys. I have managed to determine that the brown is earth, green/white is to the headlamp & the green/yellow is the main beam. The thing that confused me was the usually here in the UK Green/Yellow = Earth, But obviously this is not the case here. Anyway I have to wire the spots into the headlamp and sidelights, I am using a relay and instructions provided with the kit i bought on ebay. I should hopefully have some pics soon. I think they look Thanks Dave, |

Just 1 more question. Their are 2 wires that go into the sidelight, blue & brown. I have wired the spots up to the main beam, but you can also wire them up to the sidelights, Is Brown Earth? It would make sense because on the headlamp cluster the Brown was earth, Can somebody please confirm this? Thanks. Dave, |

| Blue/yellow left and blue/green right. Using these doesn't make sense as that will have the spots on all the time at night. I don't think people coming towards you will like that. Leave them as they are on main beam. ![]() Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you shove them down the stairs |
