Question Oil type and slick 50

Help!! I changed the oil and put castro 10w 30 regular and added slick 50. DId I really mess up or is this OK???

I have heard varying reviews on additives such as Slick 50. Most of the bad things I have heard were over 10 years ago. Hopefully the issues would be resolved by now. Hopefully someone else can be of more assistance to you. Good luck.

Slick 50 is intended for a well broken in motor. At least 20K miles on it.
Honestly though with the quality of todays synthetics I don't think it has the value it once did.

I'd suggest changing it again and putting in the proper MINI-specified 5W-30 synthetic oil (your choice of brand as long as it's a full synthetic.)

I doubt there would be any immediate ill-effects, but I wouldn't leave the dino oil in there long-term.
