Try what Paul suggested - press the remote twice in succession and it should unlock all doors. If it doesn't, combined with the interior problem - you've got a problem.

Hi, I've just bought a new 57 mini, but the manual's are so rubbish, I am stuck on quite a few things. Can anyone please help: 1. The tailgate button on the remote doesn't seem to do anything. Is it meant to open the boot only? 2. I have tried playing with the passenger airbag, I want to set it to on, and it looks like it is set to on, but when I put the ignition in, the passenger airbag off lights up (for a few secs). Is this normal? 3. What is the display above the tripometer in the rev counter for? It either has 2 arrows, (up and down) or up arrow + a number....is this for the gears? 4. Any idea on tyre pressure? (I have the 16" bridge alloys). I think that's it for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mini is going back in on Wed to fix the prob with the ipod interface so if any of these are faults, I can get them to look at it at the same time. Ta

hi dooperdummy, Ok, if you hold down the boot picture button it will release the catch and all you have to do is lift the hatch up it wont unlock it on its own unfortunately (unless you get it programmed to) Yes the passenger airbag light will light up when you start ignition then go off to say its active - if it stays on its deactivated. Just have a look on the end of dash as you open passenger door to make ure its turned to off position if your not too sure. The arrow displays on your trip computer are for your SPA - Switch point display!! Basically its a new thing on all diesels after week 36 build which will tell you the most economical gear to be in depending on how you are driving - it takes in to account speed, road situation and terain. basically to save you fuel along side your auto stop start option. Unfortunately i dont know the tyre pressures but if you look on the inside of the drivers door there is a sticker which will list different tyres sizes and will give pressure for those tyres (should really know that i know!!) ![]() Hope this is of help to you Gem Gemma x x

Excellent. Thanks Gemma. That's all my questions answered. But got a new one - do you know how to set a radio station in memory? I've pressed all buttons and nothing seems to set it. I didn't receive any manuals on how to work the radio - has anyone else? Gotta moan about the poor fitting chrome interior on my handbrake, it wriggles around which is a tad annoying. Anyone else had this problem?

| Tune to the required station, then press and hold one of the buttons that represents the memory location you want to store it in. After a second or so it will be stored. If you bought the car new, you should have the manual for the stereo. You can download a PDF version at MotoringFile | MINI Cooper news, reviews and opinion.. Life's fun in black and white |

Can't be bothered to start a new thread seen as people are asking questions in this one: What does the symbol mean which looks like the top of two seats. It appears in the trip computer display on the rev counter when the engine is first started and then disapears about 30 seconds later. And I haven't found anything about it in the manual, but I might have missed something. Thanks Tom.

It's the seatbelt status of the rear seats. They change when the rear belts are fastened. It's a shame they don't have sensors in the rear seats like they do the front. That way, they would only show up when you have rear passengers. Life's fun in black and white

An update re: the chrome fitting around the handbrake - that is the norm so I'm told by the dealer as this needs to be give a bit for when you want to take it off to adjust the handbrake or something. Took my mini in for 2 hrs to look at the ipod interface to be told it hasn't been coded at all, so I've had to book it in for a whole day to get this done. Very annoying and frustrating.
