100,000 miles

Anyone done it on their MINI yet? The MINI is easily old enough that someone must have cranked up that mileage by now - surely? There was a lot of talk some time back as to what mileage could be expected from the engine - 75,000 was a popular choice but has anyone done it - or more ?

There are a few people on North American Motoring who have, and one of our local club members just posted today that he hit 100K over the weekend. I don't think i will ever keep a MINI long enough to see that on the odo.

AFAIK as I know the first guy to get to 100,000 Miles also had a 15% pulley on it from new, with no problems..... that was what convinced me to get one eventually

With you on this! Given that I only do around 5,000 miles a year, it would be 20 years before I got to 100,000 and I very much doubt I will still have my MCS in another 19 1/2 years time!!!!!!

they do exist

i heard about another MINI One that was a driving school car and racked up 80,000 miles although it had munched its way through 6 gearboxes and numerous clutches

the highest i know of in England is THE MIGHTY IMP. He is approaching 85k in his 2001 Cooper and has thrashed it since day 1 yet has had little mechanical problems

I suppose there is no valid reason why I shouldn't but given I change cars roughly every 2 years at the moment, 20 years is not looking probable!!!

Well if I did keep it longer then maybe 2 years I might be looking at 100k miles in no time. I already have 23k on Boo in only 10 months.

Purchased my Cooper in April 2003 to date 60k. Problems I have had I'm glad were covered by warranty. ie: Passenger side window doing the teaberry shuffle, 3 new steering rack assemblies, one ECM upgrade for stalling, new driver side axle seal. I still enjoy driving this little devil but hope it doesn't take me to the poor house now that I'm out of warranty.

Mine has 90,500 miles. I rack up miles so quick, it will not be long before I hit the big number. The MINI has had very little trouble. When it hits 100,000, I am going to write a review of my experiences with it.
