Think it has to do with the date of key production - not whether a car is a Cooper or Cooper S.

Later keys have the chromed logo, earlier keys do not?

BTW my Cooper S's key (May production) looks like the one on the right.

+ 1965 Mini Traveller - Tartan Red / White roof, 1275, Cooper S discs, fully restored/renewed

My S was picked up this morning and it has the chrome. It really is the picture on the right! (I sent the pic to Wynnonna)

It may only be a sticker - but the area underneath is flat - not with the "embossed" MINI logo.

It makes the key a shiny happy key...

More importantly, if it's chrome does Monsta have it on his?

It may be, but you can tell it's not placed over top of the original button. Since the original one has texture, and this is smooth. It's not a cheesy sticker at least... it appears almost like it's not a sticker, so I'm thinking it may be like one of those thick metallic-type stickers.

Yeah, the Cooper S demo I drove had the chrome key. I asked the dealer who said it was only a Cooper S thing...

The car had only done 700 miles and the chrome was already rubbing off. My May build Cooper has the embossed logo.

Someone else mentioned this before, said it was the only thing they (a Cooper owner) were jealous of that 'S' owners get!

I don't have one, but I think I prefer the standard one anyway

S key

It's the standard S plip key.
The emblem is 'chromed' aluminium with the logo printed on.
I doubt it would ever fall off although how long the print lasts has yet to be seen.

Hey wynnonna... do you by any chance have any pics of your baby? I'm getting almost identical specs and would like to see... Thanks! m.
