I know this is off topic but can anyone pointme towards a website showing how to go about restoring an old mini, thinking of getting one as a side project.
really your best bet is to find a classic forum, they will have all sections covered like MINI2 does on the MINI
But the real workshop guide to doing anything on a mini is the Haynes Manual, and use a forum for back up, and sources such a Mini World Magazine, they cover parts over issues
If you want to undertake a restoration, there is also the Haynes Mini Restoration Manual. It is a good companion to the workshop manual (even if you don't do a full fldged restoration, it explains things differently here in there, which can be helpful on regular work as well). If you were dutch, I'd recommend www.minisevenclub.nl/forum
I've helped a mate turn a pile of brown dust into a gleaming 1380cc Mini over 6 years, it's been some project and it's made me want one now!
Possibly the only classic Mini with some new Mini parts (his dad is a BMW service manager, also means my baby gets personal attention!), has Mini hoses, side repeaters, 3rd brake light and S badge, and a 7-series battery in the boot!

Statistics are like mini-skirts, they give you a lot of ideas but hide whats important
