Advertisng your MINI - Exchange and Mart no good?

From previeous posts I will advitise my MINI in GOMini, do some window stickers and put an online/published ad out. I have ruled out Ebay as too many MINIs I have seen on there never seem to reach reserve - and I don't want to give it away.

I always used E&M in the past ( it seems to work better for London based sales) - but it seems Autotrader is the best publication.

Am I right that E&M doesn't seem to work anymore ( they want £70 for an online/published ad now).

another option that only a few dealers have done, is to let cars be placed on their forecourt, they don't buy the car off you, but they take say a cut when it sells. You might be able to speak to your dealer see if he is interested in this

Thanks I will sus them out ( they owe me a few favours anyway )

Reading between the lines it seems that E&M doesn't seem to be in the forefront of everyone's minds - so Autotrader it is then.

Problem with Autotrader for a London sale is that there is no single 'London' Autotrader,
I live on the border of two editions, so I pay my money and a guy 3 streets away who really wants a good MCS never gets to see the ad - a single London isue would suit me, but there ain't one.

With previous ( over 5 years ago) E&M ads, I have had buyers from East London ( Dagenham) North ( Barnet ) South (Croyden) - I can't reach them all now.

also...

Just checked out Ebay - and the first 15 entries ( I gave up counting ) for MINIs are all 'Resevere Not Met' ( if they started low or if they start with a proper price - thay have no offers.

Maybe Ebay is the wrong place for a car over 10 Grand...

My experience with autotrader has been poor. Advertised two different cars in it and never had anyone who was actually interested in the car phone me - just people trying to get me to advertise in their publication.

The only online place I had genuine interest from - and I'm pretty sure would have sold the car through if I'd had more time - was www.fish4cars.co.uk much cheaper than autotrader and I had several real people phone me.

My car ended up being traded in - I wanted to pick up the new one on 1st March and by the time I had a serious offer there just wasn't time to sort it out.

Good luck with the car.

Rob
