Offline | Heated Mirrors (how do they work?) So I have the the cold weather package and it comes with heated mirrors. My question is, how do you turn them on? Do they heat up once a certain tempture is reached outside? Thanks |

Offline | My MY2006 manual tells me that my mirrors and washer-jets heat once the ignition is on! In past cars I have had they have come on when you put the rear screen heater on. Surely they cannot be on ALL the time when driving - can they???? | two tons of fun | Always on it seems, which is a good thing for me as I usually have the climate control on and have never needed to use the heated rear screen, which as mentioned is usually the method they are controlled by, 55000 miles in this car and always thought the mirrors looked HOT! he he |

Offline | Can't speak for the mini as we don't have them but in the VW they had to be switched on (accidentally left on for possibly weeks that led to a fuse burn out) On the Ford they come on (along with the heated washers) when you flick on the heated rear screen. This seems the most likely/logical method as they will only turn on when needed. |

Offline | As long as the ignition is on, the washer jets and mirrors are being heated. And that is the way it is! Motor on, Dudes and Dudettes!!! '06 MCS SB/S '02 MCS DS/W (retired) |
