MINIs in the dirt...and gravel...?

So, has anyone drivien their MINI off road? In the dirt, in the gravel, through the trees? I mean on purpose of course, not after skidding down a long slope onto a golf course...

I'm just curious as to how the cars have held up, whether anyone's made any mods for off-road (rally type) driving (like skid pads or higher clearance and suspension), and just how well the MINI performs in this environment. Well, I'd imagine.

It'd be nice to see some video.

I've done quite a bit of time in snow, but have only ventured down one or two gravel/dirt roads.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Once again Scotty - awesome pics!

You have some special talent in making the MINI look fanatastic no matter the location.

Well done mate!!!

We had to go down some dirt roads on the last mini run last weekend and driving in too it nice and gentle but coming out turned off the traction control and had some fun around the corners.

The mini run a month ago we had quite a bit of dirt roads and no problems at all. The main setback is the dirt that seems attracted to the back more than most other cars we have owned but the fun is worth it.

What kind of speeds did you get up to? Any sideways action? How did the tires hold up, and what did your undercarriage look like?
