Hey, it worked for MagnaFlow

I've been waiting for a couple months to get an exhaust and I feel that this is the one. I heard that a recent dyno revealed 13whp (same as the MagnaFlow). It is also extremely light at about 1/2 the stock system, and also significantly lighter than the MagnaFlow. And while some like the aggressive sound of the MagnaFlow, other do not. I have my dune buggy fitted with a SuperTrapp, and I want something more on the mellow side

If you don't want an exhaust that looks like a Boxster's, then this is not the one for you though...

This exhaust is a bit more on the pricey side at just under $800. Thus, this inquiry!

I figure that if we can round-up 10 or so serious potential buyers, I will pursue this with MINI Madness.

On the Ides of March you get your MCS... I guess the snow should be gone by then

I just heard back, and if we can get a minimum of 10 orders, they would drop the price to $675. I think that is pretty cool... and very competitive with the others.

Also, I got a confirmation of 13whp, on multiple runs...

And, they will offer a couple choices of tips for those who don't want the current one (Boxster-like).

Please, if you are serious, post here. Ideally, it would nice to let MINI-Madness know by the end of the month that we have 10+ firm buyers.

$675... Im definitely in. My MCS in sailing on the TOSCA and should arrive in NEW YORK, NY on 03/05/2003. I suppose since I live right next to NY, I will take delivery by the 15th of March (guessing).

But if we get 10 people before then, and you guys want to order, count me in. The exhaust system will just have to sit in my living room till my Mini gets here. (my girlfriend will be thrilled)

P.S. I want the porsche tip.

This is the exhaust I want, but even at $675, it's too much. There really is no good reason that I can see this exhaust costing this much when there's so much less of it when compared to other systems.

I'm seriously interested if they get it down to a reasonable price.

I'm glad most of you see this as a good deal. It's all relative I suppose. I do see the reasoning of CurtP though. Sometimes we do pay more to get less (in this case less material). But, based upon market conditions, these items do sell in the price range...

Looks like we need about 6 more confirmations. I for one am cool with the Boxster look. But, I would like to see what else they have

First, for those who like the current Boxster-like look, they are in stock now and ready to ship...

For those who really want to see what other tips are (will be) available, I will copy/paste the reply I got:

As far as shipping costs go, I asked for figures around the U.S. to give us all a ballpark idea. Here is what I got:

CA=$20, CO=$25,
NY=$30, FL=$30

$695 to my door in CA sounds good to me. Ok, with that said, who wants in on a group purchase with the system as it is now (Boxster look)? I hope 10...

I just heard back from MINI-Madness and while they don't have any photos at this moment, he said that he would see what he could do for us. I even asked for some prototype shots, so stay tuned...

Again, I think the current look of the QuickSilver is sharp. I really don't want a dual exhaust. If the MINI was a true dual exhaust, then fine. But, for me, I don't want that just for the looks...

Ok, I heard back how MINI-Madness would like for us to proceed with this group discount.

For those who want this current system, please PM me your name (actual name). A phone number would also be helpful in identifying you as well. Once I have 10, I will contact them and share that info with MINI-Madness. When that is done, then those folks can place their orders and be verified against that information.
