GROUP BUY INFO!!!

As of right now, I have ONE confirmed order, from Bonjour.

"Confirmed" means the order has been paid for.

The knobs sold briskly last week, and my current inventory is down to EIGHT!

There isn't much chance that I'll be able to produce any more knobs and get them shipped to Anand's friend by the 19th.
So that leaves SEVEN available knobs, on the shelf, right now.

To be included in next week's shipment VIA Anand's friend, I suggest that the orders be sent in using the FAX form, available on my website.

OR, you may pay directly through Paypal; but don't do it through my site, as you will not be able to indicate the reduced price.
The e-mail address on my Paypal account is whamac@msn.com

Not to worry, though. I will still honor the group price on any orders RECEIVED this month, even though they will have to be shipped individually.
And I will absorb the shipping charges.

Doug

I have just faxed my order through.

I know this is cheeky but above you have written that you will absorb the cost for shipping charges if ordered after this date? Can the people who order for delivery through my contact get and extra reduction? as you will not have to pay the extra shipping?

Also which finish looks better in your opinion? I have gone for the polished because of the door opening handles are polished finish.

Cheers

Got the order. Thanks!

Actually, the folks ordering through you will save the import duties, if I'm correct.
Combined with the $30.00 off the price, that's a pretty good deal, IMO.

I will most likely have to pay for overnight shipping to your friend in Dallas, so I will still incur a shipping cost.

As for the finish, that's too subjective.
Most MINI folks have gone for the brushed finish, but I have had a few customers who are adding lots of chrome, so they've selected the polished.

mmmmmmm I am a bit confused with brushed or polished. I know I have polished on order and have seen the pics. with polished in cars. But I like brushed as well. Is it possible to have top half polished and the bottom brushed?

If not, then i will stick with polished all over. I will also speak to my guy tonight and confirm an exact last date for delivery.

Thanks Doug

Thats 6 left and counting

Anand. Here's a pic of the different knobs next to each other, pulled from another thread. May help you make a decision.

One thing that I've done a couple times is to take a polished knob that has the circle on top, and leave the area inside the circle polished, while brushing the rest of the knob.

I think it looks pretty cool.

Unfortunately, I haven't got a picture of one on hand.

They are all brushed I take it? I have gone for the wings 2 although the one you have ordered Bonjour looks nice (Circle) Ahhhhhhh spoilt for choice... OK order stays. If possible with the dual effect then sure yeh but if not then I await my shift in polished form.

cheers Bonjour for the pic.

That sounds very cool Doug. Wouldn't that mean a lot more effort on your part though? I'd certainly like a shift knob like the one you described. I was thinking about it anyway but didn't think it'd be possible.

No, once it's been polished, it's about a two-minute job to brush it.
I cover the circled area, and spin the knob in a lathe to brush it. Easy to do!

Here, maybe this will simplify your choice.
Perhaps you would rather skip the stainless steel and go for the billiard ball idea?

I finally found some glue that does a good job of bonding the phenolic billiard ball material.
People have been asking about this idea, and I will be offering these knobs soon!

Doug, put one aside for me please!!! I'll fax the order through in around five hours when I get to work ( I'm on nightshift - ugghh).

Cheers. I did send you a PM earlier regarding if it has to be mailed but as that isn't an issue at the moment - thanks to Anand - I'm happy to go ahead.

After a deal of deliberation I'll be going for a polished with Wings 1 (5 speed). Yep, definitely.

Thanks again,
Andy

PS. appreciate if you could email me confirmation of the order. Sorry for all the messing around

No, you didn't mention that. What will you do, install the knob only when you drive the car?
Or do you plan to share?

Cheers Doug. I'll take mine as you described please (brushed/polished circle).

The billiard ball looks cool. In fact all your work is pretty darn cool Doug. A true craftsman.

Thanks again for helping sort this out.

I'll share if I have toooo. unless you can make clip off ones, that can be changed with the old head and the new one .
Then we'll have one each, which would be stored in the glove box. I can't carry it around as we already have face plate of the stereo and the detachable steering wheel each. This is purely for security reasons .

Cheers Doug
