Group buy on chip 190hp

Ive been in touch with a company called RICA who specialise in chipping volvos and BMW's they have a chip for the mini cooper s which they say gives the car 190bhp. The car is programmed on a rolling road and the program is tailored to each car.

They are sending me dyno charts which i will post as soon as i get them.

Unfortuanately I can't get you the power plot until tomorrow. The ECU upgrade is £390 all inclusive, but if you bring 3 or more Mini-Ones, they'll knock off £40 per ECU and do them all at £350 all inclusive. Coopers S costs £590 all inclusive, but again, if you bring 3 or more, they'll knock off £60 and do them all at £530 all in. The ECU upgrade is done via the diagnostic port and is totally invisible.

Anyone interested place a post or pm me.

Cheers Anthony

i'll check with rica to see if they do a flash card. the only way of checking the presence of the chip would be to put it on a rolling road!!!

Can they seriously get 190bhp from a Cooper S with out any pulley change? Sounds a bit iffy to me but if they can i can book my car in very soon.

Any proven figures from them? or just what they claim? Superchips only offer a 7bhp increase on a Cooper S and i cant think of anyone else who offers 27bhp from a chip on an S!!!

Let me know...

Me too.

Know someone who had an Audi A3 1.8T. Had Similar 'chip' tuning and took the car from 150 bhp to +190 for less than £400. Nice!

Location is fine for me from South Wales, only an hour and a half or so. I was thiking of waiting for the Schnitzer kit but this sounds a lot easier and cheaper.

The wheel was designed for the base 3 Series Compact allegedly, 4 stud hub, but apart from side decals they never went further, deciding it was too expensive to produce. But still maybe they have changed their minds!

Thats why i have asked to see the real dyno charts.

ive been on a couple of other performance tuning forums to find out about them all the feedback from them suggest they are genuine.

Ive also got a mate who is into all this tuning lark (u wanna see his toy) and i've got him to find out as much as he can about them.

Im going ahead anyway as i have a mini one and their claim for my car is 127 which is more conservative than superchips why lie about one car and tell the truth about the other.
