United-States Quicksilver Exhaust--Group Buy?

Does anybody know of a group buy in progress of setting up for the QS exhaust? That's my choice, because of the sound and the weight savings, but at $800 it's pretty pricey.

If one is happening, I'm in.

Roger

Make one happen.

I might be interested.

Did you do a search to see what the last Quicksilver group buy resulted in?

That's three of us. If a couple of more people show some interest, I'll do some research regarding supplier, terms, pricing, etc.

Mini Madness is not going to offer group buys anymore according to a conversation I had with them yesterday.

I know that there was a group buy of Quicksilver Exhausts completed just recently. Anybody from that group know any details?

Roger,
I thought it was through Mini Madness. After that affair, I was told it is too much of a hassle to offer again. Cool Mini sells them through a distributorship here in the States. It may be another avenue to explore. I am looking to move quickly. I will hold off a little while but if nothing progresses, I will purchase by myself. Your thoughts?

Usually someone has the deal in hand before he/she pitches it to the board. I guess it can work the other way - but I've not seen it work out.

That's right--four of us. I believe that the last group buy required a minimum of 5, so in case somebody finks out at the last minute, we should be gather 7 people before we approach anyone with a deal.

I'll take the responsibility of setting it up if we get to that point, but I don't want to spend the time if there are too few guys (& girls) to bother.

Having spent 45 years in corporate and entrepreneurial life, I think we can negotiate to overcome Mini-Madness's objections one way or another--7 systems (or even 5) at one shot has to be attractive to a distributor.

It's worth a shot, and if there's no deal, there's nothing lost on our part.

I was reading the previous thread and they had a deal of $675/each with a group buy of 10 or more and supposedly an even better deal fro 20 or more. I'll forward whatever information anyone needs from me. I'm serious about it and ready. Thanks in advance Roger for spearheading this!

Can we post on other message boards to add to our group buy?

It's OK by me, but I don't know if the QS exhaust is the same for the Cooper and the "S." If they have different specs, they might not have the efficiencies of the group buy that could be passed along to us.

I'm going to call Mini-Madness tomorrow (Monday) to see what they say, and if they aren't interested in group buys anymore, as has been stated, maybe I can find another source. However, their catalogue states that they welcome wholesaler inquiries (they are the US distributor), so it's not very logical that they wouldn't be interested, since a group buy is similar to opening a new wholesaler account. I'm also going to ask for a better price than $675, or possibly them picking up the shipping cost--depends on how the conversation goes.

If anybody else is interested, now is the time to jump in.

Just checking to see if there is any progress with the potential group buy?

I'm interested in a QS group buy if you get it put together. If I'm not too late.

I want in! I was lurking on Minimania, and came across someone looking for a QS group buy on Minimania, and they referred (us) to this thread.

I'm not in a BIG hurry, but I can be ready as soon as need be. Let me know--thanks Roger! Jenni

Hi guys,

As some of you know, I organized a group buy for the QS early this year - through MINI Madness. It was a very pleasant experience! As I've shared with others, If I were in the market again for another catback system, I'd get the QS again. I'll spare you the reasons as it sounds as though you guys are already sold on it

Group purchases since then have become more popular and seemingly more difficult as well. Both George and Randy have done quite a few of them, and at this point, as last expressed to me, they find it prudent to not do anymore.

It might be worth finding a newer company, looking for some exposure, who might be willing to roll with you guys on this. Maybe you have already tried this...

It looks as though I will be trying to sell mine as I attempt to make a new system this Fall/Winter. I expect to lose the cool looks and sound of the QS I hope to gain a little more in performance and shed some more weight - mostlly through a battery box removal. I already have at least a couple guys lined-up who want the exhaust though

Have you tried Out Motoring yet?

http://outmotoring.com/quicksilver_s_exhaust.html

I forgot the guy's name, but someone from this company frequents MINI2. A really nice guy also! I'd inquire with him/them. And even companies that offer any products from QuickSilver or London Stainless should be considered - like the header. if approached, they might be willing to swing a deal for you guys.

Don't give-up!!!

Good luck.
