Offline | Group buy on pulley Jeff at Autotechnic is offering a group rate of $350 installed for five or more. Who's down for this? |

Offline | Holy crap that is an AMAZING PRICE!!! He did not mention it yesterday when i saw him. They're closed for the week. I was going to hold out til i had the cash for an ecu upgrade, and my warranty expiration, but this is very tempting... Especially after i testdrove X2Board's. Mmmm that's good power. Whose pulley are they offering? ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Have you ever been to New Milford, CT? If you went up Rte 7 to 202 last Sunday, you motored right past it. It's at the intersection of those two roads. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | He is researching which pulley will be best for him. If you have been looking, they are all the same. Two or three piece design, hardened steel inserts, 15% reduction in size, etc. So Jeff is looking into installation issues and what price he can get. He will give us the info as it becomes available. G- The reason he didn't discuss it with you is because I saw someone posted a group buy on pulleys in the Boston area on one of these sites with a price of $400. I wasn't impressed with that price so I gave our buddy Jeff a call. He came out with the $350. That is something that I will likely jump at. The nice folks at BMW said the pulley is cool. Not that they would honor the warranty of something happened to the supercharger but they believe it is a very safe way to get a definite boost. |

Offline | I believe the figure was $440, ice. The reason I asked was because I read an interesting web piece (a thread?) on the types of pulleys available. They differ mostly by material and fastening mechanism. A very interesting read, though it's all out my head now. I'm trying to dig it up. I think the Alta and H&R were featured. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Ugh!!!! Give the word, big guy, and the posse will be formed. I think I am serious about the pulley but I think they are different in the ways G stated, also in installation technique/complexity. Then again, I just found out all about planetary sumthings in transmissions on my other car so my life savings might be headed thataway..... Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | Some food for thought on the pulley choice: The Alta pulley is taper fit while the Madness pulley is interference fit. The Alta pulley is about $40 cheaper than the Madness pulley, and sounds like it's "safer" to install. ![]() |

Offline | Just when I get very confused, Randy pops up with wisdom and non-selfserving advice. I think the man needs a trip to, say, Cape Cod or someplace... Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |

Offline | I think the man has good reason to plan otherwise. There are way too many shops and producers in this area. I'd encourage him to come, as he's got by far the greatest number of successful MINI pulley installations under his belt. ![]() NY/NE Mod |

Offline | Randy is doing a group install in Atlanta this weekend and then won't be doing anymore until October or November. The only intention of my previous post was to point out that installing the Alta pulley might be less "stressful" for Jeff at Autotechnic, in that there's no worries regarding mis-aligning the pulley or damaging the supercharger seal with a heated pulley hub. |

Offline | But G, the guy is a wizard and, important to me, likes ultralights. We don't want to change his hat size but I have spoken with him re ignition wires and this guy KNOWS, no flash, he just KNOWS. But we digress....count me out, Brad and sorry but Lady M says fix the Buick Lawdy, Lawdy, the Cross I bear. |
