Hello,

How many of you all would be interested in participating in a group buy on custom leather interiors from Katzkin for your MC or MCS?

Katzkin interiors can be customized to your liking, including a selection of over 70 colors in single-tone configurations or two-tone configurations. Other options include colored stitching, colored piping, perforation, and embroidery.

The stitch pattern on these interiors matches the factory leather interior stitch pattern, for those of you interested in maintaining an OEM appearance.

Pricing would be at a considerable discount through a Group Buy, with the highest discount available with a group of 10 or more people. I don't have specifics on pricing yet, but rest assured, it will be WELL UNDER $1000 for the complete custom interior.

This is much more interesting than I expected, but heck, my Mini isn't even on order yet!

We're located in Montebello, CA (Los Angeles).

There are a few options available as far as installation is concerned:

1. Professional installation. We can arrange for your interior to be installed in your area (pretty much anywhere nationwide) for a price of $499, to be paid directly to the installation facility. This option preserves your 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty (see autoleathers.com for details).

2. Install it yourself with an installation kit. We offer an installation kit ($99 value, group buy price forthcoming) that includes all the upholstery tools you'll need to do the installation, plus an installation video on CD-ROM. All you'll need is some standard tools such as a ratchet set to pull your seats out of your MINI, and some screwdrivers for trim pieces on the seats. Everything else is included. Warranty is valid until you perform the installation. In other words, inspect your kit thoroughly before you put it on!

3. Install it yourself without an installation kit. Do this only if you have the tools for the job! Same warranty rules apply as in option 2.

I would be interested in a group buy for this. Does the installation still allow the airbag to work in the MCS seat? Does their pattern cover Sport seats?
