The AP Big Brake conversion will not fit on standard S Spoke wheels.
Even BBR had to use spacers.

The spacers on BBR car look about an 1" (25mm) but there are other brake manufacturers which claim to fit 4 pots underneath standard 17" wheels.
Iam myself looking into big brake conversion and full milltek exhaust

I've read this elsewhere mate, but when I was at AMD they promised to fit APs or Brembos with no spacers, claiming that they'd done both. They have an MC with Brembos so I guess they'd know. Mind you, they did get a few other things wrong, I wasn't best pleased.

baradona,
Where did you read about a bad review of the AP Racing brake kit?
What's not so good about it? Brake bias?

Hi Hubert,

To be fair it wasn't a full review but it wasn't based on brake bias, I think someone said that they were 'weak'. I know that one of the hong kong boys, cwwhk I think, loves his.
I've done a quick search but lots to trawl through - it's all definitely on Mini2 Forums.

I'd imagine brake bias isn't too much of an issue with EBD, and that tyre traction will break first anyhow. Big-brakes are more consistent stoppers rather than much better stoppers - especially at low speeds.

Nonetheless, I've always heard good things about APs (on Cosworths and the like), and am happy to go with the Brodie Bunch's recommendation.

I'd be intersted in a Manifold for my Works.

It was acceptable in the 80's

I could be tempted with all three if the price was right!

Any idea about cost, with discount, for each item?

Cheers

I went in again today, to AMD. They're going to e-mail me (Monday I hope) with prices for x sales of each item, so we don't need numbers straight away.

However, when I was there recently there was an Audi owner who got £120 off some Brembos as a group buy, so I imagine discounts can be good.
I'll keep you all posted

As an aside, after initial qualms about customer service, they were superb today - very easy and pleasant to deal with. They support an Audi owners' site (they host it on their server), hosted a MKIV golf club-meet today etc...as well as having some sort of agreement with mini-spares so I think we could have a fruitful relationship.
