I have spoken to Dare. They have told me the wheel will be 7 1/2'' wide, to make it 7'' they would have to make new casts that would cost in excess of £10,000

They are getting back to me with weights and offset.

NEWS UPDATE

I have spoke to several well known mini specialists, most of whom have shown a great interest in ordering these wheels. West Tuning have said they would put their name down for 10 sets, possibly even more if there was enough interest. I have a few companies that have expressed they would like to order some sets but need to confirm exact quantitites. Not bad going considering this group buy only started yesterday

Please remember that the price offered through MIni2 is a trade price, if you buy through a comapny you will be paying retail price.

All I need is your name

When would these wheels be available if it all goes ahead?

Hi jonsimons

Once I get the names of 100 people then the order would be processed straight away. The wheels would take around 3 weeks to make and around 4 weeks to ship. I would allow upto 8 weeks for the whole process.

I will not require a deposit until the 100 places have been filled. Hopefully this will happen, as many companies have shown an interest.

I will put your name down on the list and be in contact when the order happens. If you would like any more info please don't hesitate to PM me.

In the meantime if anybody has any sensible suggestions as to what could be put on the centre cap (they can be custom made), please let me know.

Cheers, LB.

I really think that selling 100 sets of these wheels won't be a problem... I also think that you shouldn't sell more than 100, therefore these wheels will still be highly exclusive.

I really need the wheels for September 1st, otherwise i'll be driving with just the steel rims..! Have you thought about the possibility of ordering 100 sets now? I may be interested in helping with finance?

The wheels will be strictly limited to a run of 100, so they will be exclusive.

I can't guarantee you would get them by any particluar date but if enough people put orders in then I suppose the beginning of September is possible.

I'm sorry jon, but I wouldn't feel comfortable pre-ordering 100 sets on my own that would cost £5000 - but thanks for the offer

Jons right, strike while the irons hot or you will have to pay the retail price of around £900.

If you snooze, you loose!!! (or something like that )

Hi Fizzle,

Right, I'll put your name down. Yes, there will be the opportunity to upgrade the tyres, I think I was quoted an extra £100-£150 by Dare to upgrade to something like a Toyo or similar. Will confirm this price tomorrow.

For £650 you will have a choice of budget tyres, such as Kunkho, Nankangs etc.

Fizzle

Just checked the price. A tyre upgrade to Toyo or similar is an extra £100

All the centre caps will have to be the same, so really we all need to agree on one we like. TBH it may be easier just to leave them as they are - I think it will have the Dare logo on it?

You could have had them already

Just pulling your leg mate I'd love to see some more sets - they are THE sexiest wheels on a MINI.
