Offline | Hi Everyone, I have just been on the phone to Dare wheels about their X4 wheel (see pics) also known as the Arceo Alpine Stars (same as Grings). As some of you may or may not know only around 4 sets of these wheels were ever made for the New mini. I was told that if they recieved an order for 100 sets with deposits paid, they would get them made exclusively for Mini2. I have been offered an exclusive Mini2 price of just £650 for a set of 4x18'' with a choice of budget 215/35 profile tyres (eg Kumo/Nankang) including fitting and balancing (normally they retail for over £900) or £350 for just the alloys. Tyres can also be upgraded to a premium brand make such as Pirelli or Toyo for an extra £100. Delivery to mainland England would be around £25, orders can also be shipped abroad but expect to pay the going rate for this. Air freight door to door costs are as follows: Toronto, Canada = £239.50 Sydney, Australia = £299.50 New York, USA = £234.50 The prices above exclude UK VAT at 17.5% and any import duty charges. If there were enough interest, the order would take upto 8 weeks for UK orders, slightly longer for overeas. A £50 deposit would be required. If you are interested please let me know. I think this is an excellent price for what is in my opinion one of the sexiest looking wheels available for the new Mini. This is my first group buy, all monies would be dealt with by dare motorsport - All I need are names of people that are interested. I hope we can get this to work. Cheers, LB EDIT: This group buy will almost definately be happening now I'm still waiting for Dare to get back to me to confirm if the price will remain the same or increase slightly due to the quanitity being less than 100 orders. If the price does go up, I'm hoping it will only be a minimal increase. You can still put your name down until this group buy closes - this will be around the 21st July 04.IF YOUR NAME IS ON THE LIST, PLEASE E-MAIL ME YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS, YOUR SCREEN NAME AND FULL REAL NAME & DAYTIME TELEPHONE NUMER TO: mark@freestylesolutions.net FOR ENQUIRIES OR TO PUT YOUR NAME DOWN YOU CAN PM ME OR WRITE A REPLY ON THIS THREAD - THANKS. Offline | 100 is alot!, but still fairly exlusive I think. Imagine if there were only 100 mini's in the world with these wheels - think how many new minis there are globally. I haven't bought Grings wheels - I believe he has already sold them, this is how the whole group buy idea came about. Cheers, LB |

Offline | Unfortuantly they will only make and ship them for an order of 100. This offer is open to mini tuning companies as well, I'm hoping some companies may want to buy larger quantities. That would help to get the numbers closer to 100. LB. |

Offline | I'd be really interested to see if Dare can persuade Arceo to produce 100 sets. It would great if they could and the price is fantastic (considering the rubber alone is worth approx £400 even for budget). I am sure this price will annoy the 4 current owners who paid considerable more for them ( ).I think Mo might be right, 100 sets is a lot for even a middle of the road wheel, 100 sets for something a specialist as this might be tough to find. Either way best of luck ![]() |

Offline | Alright Grings, You and Mo are right, 100 sets is alot to sell, but I'm going to approach a few specialist Mini companies to see if they want to buy large quantities. If this is successful then I may only need say 10-20 Mini2 users to put a deposit down, its too early on to say really. Don't foget, this offer is gloabal and not just restricted to the UK. Come on peeps - put your name down if you're interested LB. |

Offline | I guess it depends on the casting process to manufacture, if they are capable to produce in simple enough process then anything is possible. Seems a great price, thinks I will watch this space for a little while ![]() | MINIaddiction | | For MIDLANDS Folk in their MINI's | |

Offline | Leccy_Blue, Can you advise the width, offset and weight of the 18" Dare X4 wheel. If the width is 71/2", as I suspect, would it be possible to get them made in a 7" width that would be more suitable for Mini's with lowered suspension. This narrower width would also allow the 215 tyre to provide a bit more protection for those vulnerable rims! Alan W |

Offline | Alan W I believe they are 7 1/2'' wide. I will find out their weight and offset for you, I will also see if they can be made 7'' wide?. I know quite a few owners with 7 1/2 wide 18'' wheels with lowered suspension without any rubbing problems. As long as the offset was correct then I 7 1/2 wide wheels should be fine. LB. |

Offline | I know that a 71/2" wide wheel should fit if the offset is not less than et45. However, a 7" wide wheel would provide more clearance and, as I also stated, a 215 tyre would provide more protection for the rim edge on the narrower width. In addition a 215 tyre is a better fit on a 7" wide wheel, being less stretched. In theory this will also provide a more comfortable ride. A 7" wide wheel will also be lighter than a 71/2", will create less drag which translates into better top speed, lower fuel consumption etc etc. All things considered a 7" wide wheel would be better in my opinnion.
