Definitely interested too... I've got an old 2nd gen 20gb IPOD and I'll have HK in my new MCS (with MFSW). On top of that I might upgrade my IPOD in the next few months. What would the kit i'd need for my ipod and then what additional kit would I need to upgrade it to work with say a new Ipod mini?????

Just trying to work out whether it would be "sensible" to buy a new IPOD now and just get the one version of the ICELINK connection stuff.

Thanks for any help :-)

The first one has a cradle which you just slide the mini ipod into (connector built in)
The 2nd is just the connector - no cradle (eg if you want to put your ipod in the glove box

ROFL I'm trying to tell myself that I've been mad enough splashing the cash on the MCS, but to be honest I do need to have something exciting to buy to keep me going until the END OF OCTOBER without going completely insane waiting. Perhaps the mini IPOD is IT. Oh heck I can never say no ;-) But ... then what colour would I buy to go with my BEP car.. Decisions decisions eh ;-) ;-) I do have a 20gb old IPOD but I'm sure I could "make do" with 5gb as even that is a LOT of music!!!!

count me in too.... Just need to decide which one to get.... I've got both a mini ipod and 20GB 3rd Gen standard ipod..... Thinking of just keeping the 20GB ipod in the car in the glove box...

One question... does it swith itself off when you turn of the ignition... like a CD player. also... do you have to press play on the ipod each time you want to select it?? or can you select CD changer and it starts automatically... if this is the case.. does it just start playing from the main library or fro where you last stopped playing....

Sorry for all the questions... It's just that some of these things will determine if I go for a cable and cradle... type connector.

Cheers,
CooperID

Mikey, you are a god!!! Put me down for the IceLink with the connector built in to the cradel so all you have to do is slide it in!!. I will have the 4 Generation icelink.

How much will it cost to be fitted? or do you think a dumb ass like me will be able to fit it easily. Is it just one cable in to the stereo or are there quite a few.

Thanks

Mike,

I may be interested but need to know a few things.

I have the nokia hands free which is located to the left of the stereo leaving no room to fit the cradle. Also, I cannot damage the car (company) so where would the iPod actually go?

Will it be £120 for everything I will need or will I need to pay someone to fit it.

Cheers

The Ipod could be mounted on the right pillar, I have a mount for right pillar - no holes and its designed for right hand drive cars

I have already purchased this from Mikey and I just wanted to add that I can't recommend it highly enough!!!

I have mine now mounted on the left Pillar and the phone on the Right, as I found I needed to see the Ipod screen more than the phone.

Even if you buy it at full price its still a bargain for a excellent piece of kit!!!

If you have an Ipod then why isn't it wired into the car is all I can say

Its only a forum you know!
