Cool The Amazing: WEST TUNING CONVERSION GROUP BUY - NOW CLOSED!

After the huge success of the Dare X4 wheel group buy http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...735#post941735 it is now time to announce my next venture. This time the group buy offers something for everyone. As the names suggests, this is ‘The amazing West Tuning conversion group buy’

During my last group buy I was in contact with various tuning companies and managed to form strong links with many of them, resulting in valuable contacts being made - one company in-particular was West Tuning. Between us we have managed to offer Mini2 users some amazing discounts on various tuning parts catering for the entire Mini range – from One and Diesels to MCS’s.

West Tuning has featured in many prestigious car magazines, these include EVO (March 2004) who awarding his 240bhp MCS conversion with an amazing 4½ out of 5 stars!!!, and Go Mini (Apr/May 2004) to name but a few. His work in the tuning industry is highly respected, to which I’m sure anyone that has had work done by him will testify. West Tuning is a company that has been established for a period of over 16 years and based at one of the fastest racing circuits in the country, Thruxton Racing circuit (Hants) - an ideal proving ground for its products.

The Group buy discounts are as follows:

MCS 210-215bhp conversion (197lb ft torque )
£725 + vat (£851.87p inc VAT) fully fitted with before and after rolling road sessions included – This price is based on 20 kits being ordered, the price will change accordingly if there is more or less than 20 kits being sold. This kit normally retails for £995 + VAT (£1169.12p inc VAT) – that’s a whopping £317 saving, you won’t find a better bhp per £ conversion out there!!!!! Add a Miltek exhaust and Manifold and see around 225bhp!!!!!

Miltek exhausts
These are available for the entire Mini range, normally supplied at RRP but fitted for FREE. You would typically gain about 7bhp from a cat back exhaust plus about 8bhp with a manifold. Orders of 10 or more Milteks will result in a further 10% being knocked off the price below. Prices as follows:

MCS Miltek exhaust (cat back) - £411 inc VAT
Mini One, Cooper and Diesel (cat back) - £232.65 inc VAT
MCS, One, Cooper and Diesel Manifold - £581.50 inc VAT

Mini One + 30bhp tuning kit (118lb ft of torque)
£350 + vat, (£411.25 inc VAT) normal RRP £495 (£581.62 inc VAT) SAVING £170 – This price is based on 10 kits being sold. The conversion brings the Mini One up to the same BHP as a Cooper and involves re-mapping the ECU which is undetectable by Mini Dealers.

Mini Diesel + 30bhp/+34lb ft or torque tuning kit
£370+ vat (£434.75 inc VAT) normal RRP £495 (£581.62 inc VAT) SAVING £146.87 – This price is based on 10 kits being sold.

After tuning the engine – why not upgrade your brakes:

Brembo 310mm four-pot caliper brake kit, vented disc and hub adaptor
£799+vat (£938.82 inc VAT) based on 10 kits being sold, normal RRP = £858+vat. This includes FREE fitting and all necessary parts. You could also be entitled to a discount if any other product is purchased in conjunction with this kit.

Brembo Monster 330mm four-pot caliper brake kit, vented bell mounted disc
£1200+vat (£1400.10) based on 10 kits being sold, normal RRP £1275. This includes FREE fitting and all necessary parts. You could also be entitled to a discount if any other product is purchased in conjunction with this kit.

Various suspension kits and 255+ bhp engine conversions (MCS) and not forgetting Dare X4 wheels are also available, prices are available on request.

To benefit from these amazing discounts, all I need at this stage would be your name to be put down onto a list specifying what you require, please only do this if you intend to make an order. I will then need your contact details (User name, Real name, daytime contact number and e-mail address if applicable) – this can either be PM’d or e-mailed to me at: mark@freestylesolutions.net. Once the group buy has finished (around 3 weeks from today). West Tuning would require a £200 deposit to secure the group buy price, fitting dates and times will then be organised between Ray and yourselves.

So come on, what are you waiting for……..

Cheers, LB

I estimate that this group buy will be open for 3 weeks. These prices will never be repeated. If you like, you could put your name down and pay the deposit and get it done in several months time.

The 210bhp conversion is less than half the price of the Hartge !!!!!

Cheers, LB.

If anyone else is interested in buying a suspension combo - Koni shocks/Eibach springs then let Leccy know as I am, but I presume more than 10 units would need to be bought.

Anyway, Leccy if you could get a with/without group buy price for the suspension combo I'd be grateful

Cheers again

Hi Pat,

As you said, in order to get a discount 10 sets plus would need probably need to be bought. I'll find out what the normal price is anyway as I know Ray is very competitive on his pricing and fitting charges. The suspension is not really covered by the group buy - the real money savers here are with the engine conversions, brakes and exhausts.

Cheers, Mark.

Just a thought - maybe you could also include the normal price for comparison!

This looks great - and timely too as I have been considering giving West Tuning a call for some months now

Just one question, and I don't think I'm being overly dense and have missed it by mistake but - Is there any reason why no COOPER engine conversion is on offer ?

I thinks it saves about 10% but they are fitted for FREE!

I've put your name down. I'll wait for you to confirm which brakes you want.

Hi LB,

Thanks for the PM

Can you ask Ray to confirm a couple of things on the One D upgrade, firstly is it really +30bhp? There are not many other tuners who offer this much from a re-map (it's usually about 20bhp). Also can you get an increased torque figure as well (after all that what matters with the D ).

Plus (and sorry if this sounds a bit strange) has he chipped any other D's and are there examples of his work available?

Cheers Matey

Good question. The main reason, as I'm sure alot of people will tell you, is that it is very difficult to get significant power gains by chipping the cooper - probably a few bhp at best, compared to 30bhp for the Diesel and One. I would recommend getting a Miltek exhasut as this will give you around 5-8bhp, you could also add an airfilter (not covered by this group buy) which should give you a few more ponies.

Cheers, LB.

Yes, it is 30bhp gain....of course I will double check with him though.I will also find out a torque figure for you.

Yes, he has chipped D's before. Ray carries out development work for many tuning companies, I belive (don't quote me on this though) that he helped to develop the OneClick. He also works alongside marques such as Mercedes Benz, Ferrari and Noble to name just a few. Ray's real talent seems to lie in ECU re-mapping so I would be more than confident getting any ECU work done by him.

I believe this price also includes before and after rolling road sessions.

I'll confirm a few things with him shortly.

Cheers mate, LB.

Thanks for the response - I'd guessed as much but hope springs eternal. Unfortunately I'm a warranty / tlc worry wart , so it would be the ecu re-map I'd ideally be after. Is there any point in pursuing Ray on this to see what he has on offer? Thanks in advance!

Hi

Just asked Ray, he said they don't do enough work on Coopers to warrant a group buy - sorry mate. I think you'd be onto a good deal with an S, Diesel or One but most tuning companies don't offer big bhp conversions for the Cooper.
